These two men designed TCP/IP networking protocol, the way we beam HTML pages around the Web.

In 1974, Vinton Cerf and Robert Kahn proposed a "protocol" (rules for electronic transmission between computers) called "TCP" (transmission control protocol).

When this was later combined with "IP" (Internet procotol), the TCP/IP suite became the electronic standard for beaming HTML pages around the Internet.

Today, Dr. Vinton "Vint" Cerf is called the "Father of the Internet", while Tim Berners-Lee is the "Father of the World Wide Web"
