It's a new kind of 3-dimensional chat room, and quite possibly, the harbinger of virtual reality to come. Sort of like Second Life, and sort of like IMVU, Google Lively is still an experiment right now. But if this is an indicator of what is possible...maybe the world of the Matrix is not so far away.

"Second Life" is a virtual online world where most anything is possible. Recently featured in an episode of "CSI: NY", the Second Life game is a living breathing world of millions of users. Players buy and sell goods, real estate, artwork, and property. Players interact in virtual relationships, get married, start corporations. It's boggling.
