Famous People of the Internet

Quiz -- Question 13 of 15

In 1981, he was the first person to ever be arrested for a computer crime.  Nicknamed "Captain Zap", he later became the inspiration for the Robert Redford movie, "Sneakers"

A. Ian Murphy

B. Ian Hanomansing

C. Mamhoud Singh

D. David Bunnin

He not only broke into the Whitehouse switchboard in 1981, but he also managed to hack the AT&T phone network and dial their internal clock forward  (giving many phone subscribers discounted long distance).

Oddly, the State of Pennsylvania charged Ian Murphy with "theft", but no formal charge of computer-related crime.

Today, Ian is the CEO of IAM/Secure Data Systems , a company that specializes in protecting business networks.
