What Is 'WB'? (Online Gaming Jargon)

By February 16, 2013

While 'WB' commonly means 'welcome back' in online chat, it has also become the acronym for 'world boss', an expression that has been made common by MMO games like SWTOR and World of Warcraft.  For those of you new to online gaming, a world boss is an enemy monster who stands in the open, awaiting to be challenged by a large group of coordinated players.  When you see 'wb' in game chat, it often means that a player is 'looking to find a group to kill world boss'.  About.com has more on wb here...
