Why SOPA/PIPA Is Not Good for Americans or Canadians

The proposed Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP Act are not intelligent ways to approach digital piracy. These two bills essentially give the US government the unilateral power to shut down any website without due process, on the provision they can cite that it contains illegal copyright content. To anyone that understands the purpose of the free Internet and a democratic Web, SOPA and PIPA are absurd and shallow.
