It is a digital version of the ancient "trojan horse" deception: fool people into welcoming a nasty program onto their hard drives. Disguised as legitimate commercial software or an innocent-looking file attachment, a trojan keylogger will wait for you to install it. Then, the keylogger will perform its dark deeds by recording your keystrokes and stealing your passwords and private login information.
